Olivier Lavinal is the Special Assistant of the Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa Region at the World Bank Group. Prior to joining the Bank, Olivier was the Chief of Staff of the Mayor of Lyon, after being the Head of the Mayor’s office at the French Senate. Olivier Lavinal specialized in international relations and economics, with a focus on the Middle East region. Olivier is graduate and holds a Master’s degree of Sciences Po Paris, and is an alumni of Georgetown University. Former Manager of the Center for Mediterranean Integration, Olivier is a member of the team that revised the strategy of the World Bank Group in the MENA region and that launched the Global Concessional Financing Facility. Among other initiatives, Olivier manages the MENA Multi Donor Trust Fund, the We MENA initiative (Women Entrepreneurs of the MENA region) and the regional youth platform
